TURA aluminiums from the 50´s.
The TURA alimuniums were built over very few and similar fronts, and depending on when in the 50´s, TURA had different temple generations.
Tura´s from this time are all about Jewlry work. The designs were created in various jewlry workshops in the New York area.
Slot 1 - Small satin green with yellow temple covers. Unadorned and understated. Mint. US$ 200.
Slot 2 - Taupe frame with gold trim on top of eyes. Has lens and loose temples. Fair. US$ 150.
Slot 3 - Shiny blue with gold trim on top and temples. Temples loose. Fair. US$ 150.
Slot 4 - Satin gold with stones on end-pieces and temples. NOS Mint. US$ 150.
Slot 5 - Shiny silver with light engraving and small diamonds. Yellow tip covers. Mint. US$ 200.
Slot 6 - Satin silver with green sun lens. Shell decor on temples. Temples loose but condition good. US$ 150.
Slot 7 - Shiny brown. Frames same as 1-6-4. Temples are rough. Has lens. US$ 150.
Slot 8 - Shiny gold. Unadorned. Temple tip is coloured matte silver inside the temple. Has lens and temple loose. Fair. US$ 150.
Slot 9 - Shiny pale gold. Workmanship like 1-6-5. Very good condition but has lens. US$ 200.
Slot 10 - NOS - Satin rose frames with metal flowers on end-pieces and temples. Mint. US$ 200.
Slot 11 - Satin taupe front with gold decor on top and temples. Satin silver temples. Green prescription lens. US$ 150.
Slot 12 - Shiny gold with light engraving on front. Green sun lens. Mint otherwise. US$ 200.
Slot 13 - As 1-6-11 but black with gold trims. Good. US$ 150.
Slot 14 - Shiny silver with leaves on end-pieces and temples. Condition very good, Has lens. US$ 150.
Slot 15 - Tura but also marked "Superior Optical Limited Edition". Shiny rich burgundy with gold trim on top and temples. Green lens. Beautiful piece. Some wear. US$ 200.
